A Houthi rebel ballistic missile fell on a Yemeni oil field in the Marib province on June 5th, killing a total of 16 people and injuring several others, a government official told foreign reporters.
“A missile fired by the Houthis fell on an oil field in the Marib province of northeastern Yemen, causing a huge explosion,” a local official said on condition of anonymity. “The explosion completely burned down numerous civilian vehicles at the gas station.”
Since February this year, the Iran-backed Houthi rebels have launched a major offensive against the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces in an attempt to retake Marib.
Yemen has been in a civil war since 2014, when Houthi rebels began to occupy the northern regions. The internationally recognized Yemeni government under Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi’s government from the capital, Sana’a, has been all but toppled.
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!”
Says your God.
(Isaiah 40:1 NKJV)
Since 2014, the civil war between Houthi rebels and Yemen’s government forces has caused serious damage to Yemeni civilians. In addition, the Houthi rebels launched an offensive in February this year, causing even further grievance.
Lord, we believe that only You, who took up the cross, died, and rose again to give life to all nations, can give Yemen true comfort and peace.
May a prayer movement arise to intercede for the suffering of Yemen. May a fiery revival spread from Yemen to even beyond the Arab world!
Please open the doors of Yemen wide for the gospel, that Your people may enter and comfort Yemen with the love of Jesus. May Your missionaries be sent to Yemen from the world church! May a new history of salvation and love through the gospel overcome the war in Yemen. Amen!
