Hello! My name is Barfi.
When I was younger, I lived a street life. In my thirties, I got tuberculosis. I was hospitalized, but I heard the gospel of Jesus for the first time from a patient lying next to me in the same room.
The patient used to be a violent criminal who had done all kinds of crimes in the past, including threatening people with guns. But the patient’s life changed because of this gospel he heard while in prison, and he told me the vivid testimony of his life.
I was in despair at the time, because I was in the last stage of pulmonary tuberculosis. But when I heard his testimony, I started to have a spiritual thirst to know who Jesus Christ is.
As soon as I was discharged, I laid down my prayer mat and asked God for a single thing: “Forgive me for my sins…” When I said this prayer, I fainted. Then I saw a vision. In that vision, the Lord met me and I began to repent for all my sins, even the little things I did that I did not remember, including stealing a pen and hitting girls when I was young.
The Lord came to me in this way, and I began to read the Bible and pray every day, looking forward to the day when the Lord would take me to heaven. I continued vomiting blood every day, but I did not pray for healing. My desire to meet the Lord in heaven was greater.
However, a few months later, my doctor surprisingly told me that my lungs were completely healed. I started to pray seven hours a day, seeking God’s face. Then I became a minister and have been preaching the gospel to prisoners and patients for the past ten years.
I shared the gospel of salvation with many souls and made sure that even Islamic extremists heard this gospel. Now I am a pastor of a small house church. I share the gospel with at least one new person every day.
One day, I heard about the vision for missions from a brother of faith. I confessed that my ultimate hope is to live the life of a missionary with my wife. Now, I desire to be trained to become a missionary, offering the rest of my life to the Lord in the nations.
Please pray that Kyrgyzstan will no longer be an unreached nation but rise up as a nation that follows the calling, as one who is indebted to the gospel!
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
(Psalm 107:15, NKJV)
Praise our God, who led Brother Barfi from death to life. His life was full of sins, but by Your faithfulness, You did not give up on him but led him to salvation while he was on the brink of death and gave him hope. He was in despair with sickness, but by Your grace, he was healed. Barfi praised You and became a minister because of Your goodness and Your wonderful works.
Lord, now he wants to arise with Your vision and offer his life to spread the life of Jesus Christ to the nations as one who is indebted to the gospel. Please guide him, that the distressed people in the nations can accept Jesus, who is the life, every day through him and his wife.
As You have shown Your goodness and your great works to Brother Barfi, also show them to the people of Kyrgyzstan, that they may become a holy people who praise God’s love and go to expand the kingdom of God to the ends of the earth! Amen!
