Hello, my name is Sahar. I’m from Iran.
I grew up living a very ordinary everyday life. I grew up with little hardship, until, all of a sudden, my father passed away, and all my sisters got married, and now I am living with just my mom and younger sister. I am currently in my last semester of graduate school, and I am writing my dissertation. My mother is old in age, and my future looks bleak. There are not many good employment options for young people because of the struggling economy. Because of this, I have so many worries that I usually can’t sleep properly at night. I often get nightmares, and I feel sad, empty, and lonely.
But my good friend, whom I confide in, would share about the gospel of Jesus to me every time I shared my concerns with him. And every time my heart is in pain or turmoil, my friend always prays for me in Jesus’ name. My friend says this confession often: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And he would often tell me that he wants me to be strengthened in this confession too, and through it receive a peace that the world cannot give.
I’m not certain yet; however, I want to experience the peace and freedom that I recognize my friend has. Please pray for me.
This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked.
We praise our God for sending Sahar, who is stressed and worried about her future, a good friend of the faith.
May Sahar now accept the gospel she has heard and deeply encounter Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for her sins. When she lays down her burdens in life before the Lord, may she experience the true freedom and peace that the world cannot give! May Sahar, who is so close to salvation now, rise and stand on her own two feet and become a powerful disciple who will follow Jesus alone, no matter the persecution or suffering!
May an even greater work of the Holy Spirit arise in Iran. And may the gospel spread all throughout Iran, beyond Persia, and to the ends of the earth through Iranian young people like Sahar! Amen!
