[Today’s Prayer] The Negotiation group meeting again in Paris... Will we find a breakthrough in ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza?

gapmovement1

Some signs of progress in negotiations are detected as the U.S. and other arbitrating countries, are continuing to engage in fierce behind-the-scenes negotiations by drawing up a temporary ceasefire and hostage release agreement in Gaza before the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.

As Hamas, which had taken a hard-line stance demanding Israel's complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and a permanent ceasefire, is known to have made a 'new proposal'. Expectations are growing about the possibility of narrowing the differences.

On the 22nd (local time), the American daily Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing local officials, said William Burns, Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian National Intelligence Service (GNI) Abbas Kamel in Paris, France, on the 23rd.) It was reported that the director and others were scheduled to meet.

It has been about three weeks since the 28th and 29th of last month that Israel and mediation countries such as the United States, Egypt, and Qatar met face-to-face in Paris.

Benny Gantz, leader of the National Unity Party, who participated in Israel's war cabinet, said in a statement on the 21st, "There are early signs that there is a possibility of progress toward a negotiated settlement."

The main issue in future negotiations is expected to be the possibility that the temporary ceasefire will lead to a permanent ceasefire.

Hamas is said to be in the position that once the six-week temporary ceasefire begins, negotiations for a permanent ceasefire should begin immediately.

Egyptian officials reported that Hamas announced plans to link the issue of hostage release during the ceasefire period with the end-of-war negotiations, the WSJ reported.

However, Prime Minister Netanyahu maintains that an end to the war is an unacceptable demand.

Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. (Luke 11:4)

God, you who became the father of Israel and Palestine, we see the two nations who hate each other and are in the midst of the pain of war.

Amid the difficulties and devastation of the war, the desire to stop the war and at the same time, not to giving up on their worldly gain is fluctuating among the two nation.

But, we confess that the only thing that can stop the conflict between these two nations is Jesus Christ’s love for the Cross.

You are father of two nations, who graciously treated Israel and Palestine and forgave the sins of those who died.

Lord, we first must know how the Father feels, and on behalf of these nations, we forgive them and ask for forgiveness.

Listen to our prayers, allow Israel and the Palestinians to show mercy on each other and love each other with the love of the cross

In the midst of ongoing negotiations, allow the leaders of these two nations to have the heart of the compassion of a father that cannot be possessed by human power, so that the war can end soon and the true peace of the cross can be with Israel and Palestine!
