[Today’s Prayer] Russia: “If they support cluster bombs to Ukraine, we will use a similar weapon"

Russia has warned that they will also use cluster munitions, if the US supports Ukraine with controversial cluster munitions, which is considered as inhumane weapons. However, Russia is already suspected of using cluster bombs in Ukraine.

According to Tas and Reuters on the 11th (local time), Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu threatened by saying "if the United States provides Ukraine with cluster munitions, the Russian military will have no choice but to use similar means of destruction against Ukrainian forces as a countermeasure."

He also reiterated his position, stating that US army supporting Ukraine would only prolong the war.

The day after the U.S. agreed to deliver cluster munitions to Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated "The supply of cluster munitions will make United States as an accomplice in making Ukraine’s land minefield and will have to bear full responsibility for the casualties of civilians; including Russian and Ukrainian children".

Cluster bombs are indiscriminate killing weapons which scatters from dozens to hundreds of smaller bombs in one single bomb, and are criticized for causing civilian casualties due to the high rate of unexploded bombs.

God, as the war between Russia and Ukraine is continuing; we hear that they are now using inhuman weapons, cluster bombs, which is escalating the war and bringing threat to civilians.

Have mercy on Russians and Ukrainians, who have abandoned God’s word, love your neighbor as yourself. And now they wage war for revenge and gains in the midst of death and pain.

We confess that the Lord is the only true peace and savior. Shine your light on the politicians’ heart, who have turned complete evil, so that all sins and darkness will be casted away, so that they may forgive and love.

Please stop the usage of inhuman weapons, and stop the war quickly to protect the civilians so that they are no longer in pain. Change the pain of war and scar into testimony of redemption and praise, As we proclaim the salvation of the Lord to the nations that are dying, let Russia and Ukraine testify the love of the cross! Let them rise as nations who will prepare the way of the Lord and save the nation with the power of the gospel!
