[Today’s Prayer] Ramadan, an unexpected variable in the Gaza war... Adding fuel to the Muslim rage?
Concerns are growing that the conflict over Arab residents' access to Jerusalem's holy sites during the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan, which begins next month, will become a new detonator in the war between Israel and Hamas.
According to the American daily New York Times (NYT) on the 19th (local time), the Israeli government is discussing ways to strengthen restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque for Arab residents during Ramadan this year. Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem is one of the three holiest sites in Islam.
According to two officials familiar with the matter, Israeli cabinet ministers discussed on the 18th whether to ban some Arab figures from attending Al-Aqsa mosque for prayers during Ramadan.

Some Arab residents expect that access restrictions will be greatly eased during Ramadan, which begins on the 10th of next month, but Israeli far-right figures, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, are calling for stronger access restrictions, sparking conflict.

Conflicts surrounding visits to holy sites during Ramadan have become the spark for large and small armed conflicts between Israel and Palestine every year.
In particular, as the war between Israel and Hamas has continued for four months this year, there are concerns that conflict in holy places during Ramadan could worsen the war.

Warid al-Waslah, an Arab lawmaker in Israel, wrote on his social media that restricting Arab residents' access to sacred sites during Ramadan "is likely to pour unnecessary fuel on the flames of violence."
Dan Harrell, former Israeli military chief of staff, said in a radio interview that the measure was "unnecessary, foolish and meaningless" and warned that it would "ignite the entire Islamic world."
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)
A plan is being discussed to restrict Arab residents' access to holy sites in Jerusalem during the Islamic month of Ramadan, which begins next month.
The purpose of this is to prevent recurring Ramadan clashes between Jews, Palestinians, and the Israeli military and police , but there are growing concerns that the situation could worsen by amplifying religious conflicts surrounding holy sites.
God who loves the peoples of Israel and Palestine, the conflict between these two peoples continues to grow and countless people are suffering due to the unstoppable war.
Lord, we confess that although there are so-called gods and many vain idols on this earth, there is only one savior, Jesus Christ.
As the time of Ramadan approaches, when people show solidarity with Islam by fasting and bowing to vain gods because they do not know the true savior, may You work so that the gospel can be preached more quickly in the lands of Israel and Palestine.
Pour the love of the cross into their hearts that are full of distrust and hatred, and may You guide them so that vain deaths and meaningless wars do not worsen.
Not only Israel and Palestine, but also the 2 billion Muslims who have been deceived by lies, return to the Lord and worship and praise only God the Father!
