[Today's Prayer] Pakistani rebels attack police station, burn bank, kill 16-year-old boy

In southwestern Pakistan, where separatist forces demanding independence frequently carry out terrorist attacks, armed rebels attacked a police station and opened fire on civilians, killing or injuring 13 people, including a 16-year-old boy.

According to AP and China's state-run Xinhua News Agency on the 1st (local time), armed rebels with guns attacked a police station and set fire to two banks in Mastung, Balochistan Province, southwestern Pakistan.

They indiscriminately shot civilians, killing a 16-year-old boy and injuring nine others before fleeing.

A gunfight with Pakistani security forces ensued, killing two armed rebels and injuring three.

Balochistan provincial spokesman Shahid Rind said a security operation had been launched to track down the escaped armed rebels.
