[Today’s Prayer] Kuwait: “Clash with infiltrators from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard… 4 arrested” (Comprehensive Report 2)

Kuwait’s military reportedly arrested four members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who infiltrated the coast, according to Kuwait’s state-run KUNA news agency on the 12th (local time).

According to the report, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defense announced, “The four individuals arrested while crossing the border on the 1st of this month confessed to belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,” and “Kuwaiti forces engaged in a firefight with the group, resulting in one soldier being injured, while two members of the infiltration team escaped.”

The Interior Ministry explained that they attempted to infiltrate Bubiyan Island by fishing boat in order to carry out hostile acts targeting Kuwait.

Bubiyan Island is located near the Iraq-Iran border in northern Kuwait. The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port is being constructed there as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This port was attacked by Iranian drones and cruise missiles on March 27.

If Kuwait’s announcement is true, Iran may have been targeting U.S.-related facilities on Bubiyan Island.

Last month on the 6th, the Iranian military claimed it had attacked the island with drones, asserting that after repeated attacks on the U.S. Arifjan base in Kuwait, the U.S. military had moved satellite equipment and ammunition to a temporary base on the island.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador regarding the infiltration incident.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry released a statement that night rejecting Kuwait’s claims as groundless.

The statement said, “The claim that Iran planned hostile acts against Kuwait is completely baseless,” and condemned “the political exploitation of four Iranian personnel who entered Kuwaiti waters due to a navigation system failure while carrying out maritime patrol duties.”

The statement continued, “We hope the Kuwaiti authorities will refrain from hasty remarks and unfounded claims and resolve the matter through official channels,” and also emphasized that “in accordance with international law, the Iranian embassy in Kuwait must be allowed immediate access to the detainees and their release.”

We hear news that four members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard who infiltrated Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island and engaged in a firefight have been arrested, and that Iran has denied Kuwait’s claim that the infiltration was part of a hostile act planned against Kuwait.

God, please have mercy on the soldier injured in the clash between Kuwait and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard. Heal him by Your hand, and judge and lead according to Your faithful will the two Iranian infiltrators who escaped.

As Iran increases enemies in the Arab world by attacking Gulf nations under the pretext of targeting U.S. military bases in the Gulf region to counter the United States, may Iran now bring an end to this lonely struggle. May the power of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard be broken and its support weakened, so that leaders who truly seek peace for Iran may be newly established.

Hear the cries of concern from Iran, and protect them from the fear of war and death. Encourage the local churches so that by faith they may proclaim that the battle belongs to the Lord, and grant them strength and power to intervene in the lives of Iranian Muslims through the gospel.

May the Iranian souls made poor in spirit through war discover the eternal Kingdom of God, and may the global church continue in worship, prayer, and gospel ministry for the spiritual growth of the local Iranian church, so that all things may be accomplished according to the Lord’s will.

And so, may Iran proclaim the Kingdom of God to the nations of the world and gain victory in every spiritual battle through Jesus Christ.
