[Today’s Prayer] Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces join government, unite northeastern region

The northeastern region of Syria, which has been effectively ruled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces ( SDF), will be placed under the control of the Syrian interim government. Interim government President Ahmed Sharaa and Syrian Democratic Forces Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi signed an agreement related to this.

Commander-in-Chief Abdi told social media X, "I consider this agreement a genuine opportunity to build a new Syria that embraces all its members."

According to the eight articles released by SANA, the agreement guarantees citizenship and all constitutional rights to the Kurds, who make up the majority of the Syrian Democratic Forces. In addition, all public institutions such as border checkpoints, airports, and oil and gas fields in northeastern Syria controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces will be integrated into Syria. In addition, an executive committee was formed to ensure the participation and peace of all Syrians regardless of their religious or ethnic background, and efforts were made to implement this by the end of this year.

Although the sectarian conflict has come to an end and the interim government is in the process of concluding the agreement, the situation in Syria remains unstable. It is unclear whether the Syrian Democratic Forces will be properly incorporated into the national army as promised. In late December last year, the interim government announced that it would disband all rebel forces in Syria and incorporate them into the government army, but this has not been completed, and bloodshed has occurred. Integration with the Arab community of Druze believers in southern Syria is also a challenge.

"Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces. 25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you” (Exodus 23:24-25)

Lord, we hear that the agreement between Syria's interim government and the Syrian Democratic Forces holds out hope for building a new Syria that is inclusive of all its people.

But we also see that there are doubts about whether it will be possible to unite all peoples.

They seek to make peace by human means, but we confess that perfect peace is only possible through the blood of Jesus.

Jesus, the perfect peace, we ask you to visit Syria, as they are trying to solve its problems by human methods.

Please visit the peoples of Syria who are lost in their search for the truth.

Help them to be a people who worship the Lord God, the only perfect God, rather than trust in false gods and seek after vain ways.

Let them see that when they seek You first, they will be set free from all their problems. Let them experience that all the problems are solved when they serve the Lord God, as You have said.

To this end, unite the global church in prayer for true peace in Syria, and allow them to become determined and joyfully committed to preaching the truth.

Allow the Syrian people to be a witness of grace of true freedom and peace to all nations, so that they may be a holy priesthood proclaiming the Lord, who is perfect liberty to all peoples and nations who serve falsehood.
