[Today's Prayer] Kazakhstan, 'Worst Flood' Occurs..."16,000 People Evacuated"

According to AFP news on the 2nd (local time), about 16,000 people evacuated due to flooding in Kazakhstan. This is reported as the 'worst flood' to hit a Central Asian country in 30 years.

The Kazakhstan Ministry of Emergency Situations stated in a post on Telegram that "approximately 16,000 people, including 6,000 children, have already been evacuated" and "rescue operations are ongoing."

They stated that the situation is complex in five regions in the northern and eastern parts bordering Russia, and added that road connections to 50 settlement villages have also been cut off.

The Kazakhstan Meteorological Service warned that as the snow melts on the vast Kazakh steppes, the water levels are likely to rise even further.

On the previous day (1st), Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev publicly criticized government officials for not being prepared for the worst flood.

He pointed out, "Even considering the weather conditions, if local leaders had implemented planned flood control measures, the consequences and scale of the disaster could have been reduced."

Lord my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me. I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. (Psalm 7:1-17)

We praise our Father God, who saves all who seek Him.

We hear that about 16,000 people have evacuated and rescue operations are ongoing due to the central flooding in Kazakhstan for the first time in 30 years.

It is said that there is a possibility that the water level will rise even higher as the snow melts on the vast steppe. May the rescue operations take place quickly and prevent further damage.

May those who are evacuated and trembling in fear due to the great flood take refuge in you God, and may you grant the grace of salvation to all who take refuge in you.

In these difficult and hard times, may the people of Kazakhstan rise up as a nation that praises and loves only the Lord Most High!
