[Today’s Prayer] Israeli Prime Minister’s Office: “Ready to Immediately Implement First Phase of Trump’s ‘Gaza Peace Plan’”

ree

Israel has announced its intention to move forward with U.S. President Donald Trump’s ‘Gaza Peace Plan.’ This comes as the Palestinian militant group Hamas expressed willingness to accept parts of the peace plan, including the release of Israeli hostages, raising hopes for a possible ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to AFP and other media on the 4th (local time), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement that “Israel is prepared to immediately implement the first phase of President Trump’s (peace) plan to secure the immediate release of all hostages.”

It added, “Since the principles proposed by Israel are consistent with President Trump’s (peace) plan, Israel will fully cooperate with the President and his team to bring the war to an end.” However, the Prime Minister’s Office did not comment on Hamas’s request for further negotiations regarding its partial acceptance of the peace plan.

Hamas had earlier released a statement saying that “in accordance with President Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, we agree to cease hostilities and to release all surviving and deceased hostages,” and that “we reaffirm our approval to transfer administrative authority over the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian body based on national consensus and supported by the Arab and Islamic world.”

28 I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail 29 I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure (Psalm 89:28–29)

God, we hear the news that Israel is moving forward with President Trump’s ‘Gaza Peace Plan.’ Also, we hear that Hamas has accepted the demand to release Israeli hostages, giving a faint glimpse of hope for a ceasefire in Gaza.

However, detailed negotiations have not yet been completed, and even today we continue to hear reports of sporadic clashes in the Gaza Strip. We pray earnestly that complete peace will come to Gaza.

We confess that this cycle of vengeance and pain can never be ended by human strength alone. Just as Jesus completely covered the sins of all humanity on the cross, may these people also come to know Jesus and forgive one another with His heart.

Lord, remember Your covenant with Israel. Though they do not yet know their Savior, we believe that as the global Church intercedes and lifts Israel up into Your hands, they will repent and quickly return to Jesus.

May every conflict between Israel and Palestine be broken by the power of the Gospel. May Israel, the firstborn nation, become a blessing among all nations and prepare the way for the coming of the Lord.
