[Today's Prayer] Israel seeks deployment of Arab multinational forces for security in Gaza Strip

Israel, which is at war with the goal of eradicating the Palestinian armed faction Hamas, is known to be pursuing a plan to deploy a multinational peacekeeping force to secure security in the Gaza Strip and facilitate the procurement of relief goods.

On the 30th (local time), the Israeli daily Times of Israel reported that multiple local media outlets reported on this plan the evening before.

Peacekeepers are likely to be armed to maintain law and order and are expected to cooperate with Gaza residents who are linked to the Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs parts of the West Bank, and have no ties to Hamas.

The peacekeeping force will initially be tasked with preventing the looting of relief supplies entering the Gaza Strip and protecting the temporary port that the United States is building to procure relief goods by sea.

In the case of the United States, although it supports this plan, its position is that it is linked to whether Israel implements the post-war plan for reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Previously, in January, Minister Gallant announced a post-war plan that included entrusting civilian-related issues in the Gaza Strip to Palestinians who are not hostile to Israel and entrusting peacekeeping forces with the role of supporting stabilization of the region.

Israeli media outlet Ynet reported that Israeli defense officials discussed with the U.S. government, the Central Command, and the candidate countries participating in the peacekeeping force, and then discussions were held between the United States and the participating candidate countries, and progress was made here.

However, local daily Haaretz reported that no agreement has yet been reached on how to arm the peacekeepers.

“For it pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell in Jesus, through whom all things were reconciled to Himself, both things on earth and things in heaven, making peace through the blood of His cross.” (Colossians 1:19-20)

We praise you, our Lord God, who provides salvation among all nations.

Lord, thank you for looking after the refugees in Gaza suffering from war. The news that the deployment of multinational forces is being discussed to help those suffering from hunger gives us hope that some peace will come among the refugees.

However, Lord, what we truly want and pray for is for all these wars to end quickly and for them to become one through the love of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. May the people of Israel and Palestine live in Jesus Christ.

May the Lord grant among them the peace achieved through the blood of the cross. Please cut off all strife, strife, and sin, and fill them only with the love and grace of the cross.

We rely on the power of the cross and resurrection that overcame the power of death. We long for the eternal love of the Lord, which is stronger than human sin and vanity. Please stop all wars and change their anger, anger, poverty and fear into joy and peace, healing and eternal life.

We praise you, Lord, who will bring peace to the Israelites and Palestinians through Jesus Christ. May all nations be filled with the joy and freedom of eternal life!
