Israel has officially announced its plan to occupy 75% of the Gaza Strip within two months and to force 2 million local Palestinian residents into the remaining narrow area.
According to Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, the Israeli military presented this plan on the 25th (local time) as a strategy to completely drive out the Palestinian militant group Hamas from Gaza and to retrieve the hostages being held.
Since the end of the temporary ceasefire in March, Israel has resumed its offensive and currently controls about 40% of Gaza. Last week, it launched a large-scale ground assault dubbed "Operation Gideon's Chariots" with the goal of reoccupying the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media outlets such as Haaretz expect Gaza residents to be forcibly relocated to three areas: Masawi in the south, refugee camps in the central region, and Gaza City in the north.
These regions account for about one-quarter of the entire Gaza territory.
The Israeli military also announced that as early as the 26th, it would begin a U.S.-supported aid program to distribute relief supplies in Gaza.
The UN and other organizations that have operated hundreds of supply centers throughout Gaza argue that residents should not be forced to cross dangerous war zones for food, and that Israel, as a party to the conflict, should not have control over aid distribution.
Despite such opposition, Israel remains steadfast in its intention to continue large-scale military operations.
Israel intends to expel Hamas leadership from Gaza through what amounts to an ultimatum-style assault, and a full-scale invasion appears imminent.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the new offensive involves not only occupation but also maintaining control of the territory, even suggesting the possibility that Israel may not withdraw from the occupied areas in the future.
The Israeli military has declared that it will destroy all infrastructure used by Hamas in any newly occupied areas of Gaza.
If this continues, Gaza, already devastated in many regions, is expected to become even more desolate.
A military official stated that 25% of the hundreds of kilometers of tunnels dug by Hamas under Gaza have already been destroyed.
Israel and Hamas have been discussing a proposal by Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, which includes releasing 10 hostages and a 60-day ceasefire, but negotiations have stalled.

“Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved!” (Psalm 80:7, ESV)
Heavenly Father, we have heard the recent news that Israel has officially announced its plan to occupy 75% of the Gaza Strip within two months, to completely drive out the Palestinian militant group Hamas, and to confine 2 million local Palestinians into the remaining narrow areas in order to retrieve the hostages.
Have mercy on the souls of the people in Gaza who are being forcibly displaced by this unwanted war. Grant them true comfort that comes from looking toward Your eternal Kingdom.
Let the local church in Palestine pray for the souls of Gaza, who are trapped in fear of hunger and death, and let them go among them to serve with the heart of Jesus.
Also, unite the global Church in prayer, so that when they cry out the name of Jesus, their only hope, You would command true restoration among them and shine the light of Your face, granting salvation.
Israel and Palestine belong to You, Lord. Break the rule of darkness that has bound them, and let Your rule be established among both nations.
For this purpose, may the Church in Israel and the Church in Palestine forgive one another and open the way to reconciliation first, striving to proclaim the Gospel to the souls in Gaza.
May the Hamas regime soon collapse, and may the long-standing conflict between Israel and Palestine be healed through mutual love and forgiveness.
Finally, let Israel and Palestine rise up as the final disciples who make disciples of all nations, becoming holy nations that prepare the way for Your return, O Lord!
Through them, let us witness You taking Your throne as King among all suffering nations!
