[Today’s Prayer] Iran that will be set free by the truth, Iranian woman who became a Christian: “Western churches must engage in spiritual warfare”

An Iranian woman who embraced Christianity after experiencing an abusive marriage and Islamic oppression has challenged Western Christians to “rise up and pray for the spirit of the Antichrist to disappear from Middle Eastern countries.”

Lily Meschi, director of partnerships for Iran Alive Ministries, said in a recent interview with The Christian Post, “We need Western Christians to support Iranians seeking Jesus in a complex social and political environment.” “We need to raise our voices,” he emphasized. Messi reiterated, “As Christians, we must stand up and pray that the spirit of opposition, the spirit of the Antichrist, will be removed from Iran so that we can be free to have the good faith that will ultimately give Iranians true freedom.”

When she was 16, financial difficulties following the failure of her father's business brought about another drastic change in her life. Her family left their comfortable life in Tehran without warning and left for Germany, living in cramped corner of a relative's small apartment.

“It was so difficult and it caused me so much anxiety, emotionally and mentally,” she said. She reached a turning point after moving to the United States, where she found herself trapped in an abusive and forced marriage.

She said: “The marriage ended in a very toxic and violent way in every way - verbally, emotionally, physically and sexually - and was very dark. After two years of marriage, I realized that I was at the bottom of a mire. These were dark days, and there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I thought my life was wasted. “I was trapped by the man who cursed at me,” he said.

In one of her darkest moments, when she felt complete loss and despair, she was introduced to Christianity through friends in Oklahoma. They preached the gospel to her, and she experienced deep spiritual awakening while watching the movie ‘Jesus’ and listening to Bible verses.

This newfound faith became a light of hope and healing for her, lifting her out of the despair of her abusive marriage. Through mentorship by a dedicated Christian, she learned how to navigate past trauma through prayer and the Bible, gradually healing from the accumulated wounds of her childhood and a toxic marriage.

“This is an opportunity to share the gospel with Iranians,” she said. “When they hear the gospel, that is what draws them in, disciples them, and shows them what Christianity truly is.”

“Many Iranians have become skeptical of religious structures and associate them with political oppression,” he said. “Because they unite politics and religion, they experience serious barriers to religious outreach in the region.” He said.

Lastly, he redefined Christianity for the Iranian people and emphasized its essence as a relationship rather than a normative rule, saying, “Christianity is not just another religion, but a deep conviction of the heart that is distinct from the controlling commands of Islam under the Iranian regime.”

“whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:6-7)

We praise God who has given us Christ through grace.

God, Sister Messi locked herself away due to the wounds she received from a young age.

We hear testimonies of deep encounters with Jesus through the Word.

It is not the end of the experience of meeting Jesus, but the gospel that one has realized does not end with the person who does not know God.

She is living her new life to convey this message back to them.

God, thank you for never abandoning us like orphans when we are suffering because of our sins.

We believe that the Lord poured the Holy Spirit abundantly on Sister Messi so that she may have eternal life.

Now she desires to share this hope of eternal life that the Lord has given to her. Would you listen to our appeal and send people who will pray together for Iran.

Let the Iranian people realize the supreme love of God, which was confirmed through Christ,

Let the souls we meet bear countless fruits!

Let all nations see the name of Jehovah, who performs amazing and beautiful works of salvation!

Let us cover the Iranian nation and all nations with the Holy Spirit and exalt the name of Jehovah, who gave us eternal life!
