[Today’s Prayer] Iran, Facing the Worst Drought, Continues Joint Prayers and Attempts ‘Cloud Seeding’

Iran, facing the worst drought in its history, has attempted “cloud seeding” to induce artificial rain, BBC reported on the 16th (local time).

According to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, Iranian authorities carried out cloud-seeding operations the previous day in the region of Lake Urmia in the northwest.

Cloud seeding is the act of dispersing “cloud seeds,” which are tiny particles that serve as condensation nuclei or ice nuclei, into clouds to increase rainfall and induce artificial rain.

Iran is currently facing the worst drought in its history.

Precipitation has hit a record low and reservoirs have nearly dried up. The Iran Meteorological Organization stated that the nation’s rainfall this year has decreased by 89% compared to the annual average.

Lake Urmia, the salt lake where the cloud-seeding operation took place the previous day, was once the largest lake in Iran, but it has now mostly dried up, exposing its salt floor.

As the worst drought continues, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian recently warned that if sufficient rain does not fall soon, Tehran’s water supply may have to be switched to a “rationing system,” and that “if rationing proves ineffective, it may be necessary to issue an evacuation order for residents of Tehran.”

Authorities also announced a plan to punish households and businesses that use excessive amounts of water.

On the 14th, hundreds of people gathered at a mosque in the capital, Tehran, to pray for rain.

God the Father, we see that Iran has recently faced the worst drought in its history and has turned to cloud seeding for artificial rain, and that if sufficient rain does not fall, the water supply of Tehran may need to shift to a rationing system, and if rationing fails, a resident evacuation order for Tehran may be required—an extremely serious situation.

Have mercy on Iran, which remains in confusion due to the war with Israel and is now also facing this severe drought. Furthermore, the souls of Iran, filled with concern, are gathering in mosques and praying to Allah to send rain.
