[Today’s Prayer] Iran Executes Two “Mossad-Linked Spies” by Hanging

Iran’s judiciary announced on the 2nd (local time) that it had carried out executions by hanging of two individuals whose convictions on charges of spying in connection with Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, had been finalized.

According to the judiciary, the individuals executed were Iranian nationals Yagoub Karimpour and Naser Bekrzaadeh, and the sentences were carried out that morning in West Azerbaijan Province in the northwest.

The judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency reported that Karimpour had been in contact with Mossad during the “12-Day War” that broke out in June of last year, passing along information about the locations of security facilities and key figures in Iran and receiving cryptocurrency in return. He was also accused of being trained in the manufacture of explosive devices, using explosives in certain areas, photographing military facilities and leaking those images, and committing acts of arson in some regions.

God our Father, we hear the news that Iran’s judiciary has carried out the execution by hanging of two individuals whose convictions on charges of espionage linked to Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, have been confirmed.

Lord, as tensions continue in Iran amid prolonged war and incidents, please care for the hearts and lives of the Iranian people. You who are a great help in times of trouble, be a refuge for them, so that even in ongoing war and hardship they may take refuge in You and experience peace.

May the Iranian church be used as a channel to share the Lord, who is a refuge, with neighbors who are suffering and weary. Let Your love and Your Word flow throughout Iran and to the nations.

May the global church pray more earnestly for Iran and go out to share the gospel. Let the gospel continue to be proclaimed in Iran, and through its power, bring true peace to the land.

Let the Iranian church, in the midst of suffering, lift their eyes and look only to Jesus Christ, take on the Lord’s heart, and rise up with the mission of proclaiming the gospel of life to all nations.

May the people of Iran become holy disciples who take the lead in preparing the way for the Lord’s return.
