The United States and Iran were reported by multiple media outlets to be entering a second round of ceasefire negotiations on the 20th (local time) in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator. However, Iran has drawn a line, stating that “no schedule has been set.”
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported on the 18th that “Iran has not agreed to begin a second round of ceasefire negotiations with the United States,” citing “the U.S.
declaration of a maritime blockade against Iran and the continued excessive demands from the U.S. side in negotiations, as seen in recently exchanged messages.”
(omitted)
President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, while returning from Phoenix, Arizona to Washington, D.C., “We may not extend the ceasefire, but the blockade will remain,” adding, “Unfortunately, if the blockade continues, we may have to resume bombing.”

“The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and patient, gently instructing those who oppose him, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 2:24–25)
Heavenly Father, we hear that tensions continue as the United States and Iran exchange excessive demands without a set schedule in their negotiations for a ceasefire.
In a situation where the ceasefire may end and lead to renewed bombing if Iran does not agree, Lord, we ask that You intervene.
Please take hold of the hearts of all leaders, so that they may not quarrel but instead make decisions with gentleness and come to agreement. Let them repent for the many casualties that have already occurred and make decisions in light of the truth.
Lord, let the church in Iran and the church in the United States seek Your will and pray more earnestly. Let the global church also remain awake and pray without ceasing.
Let the churches in Iran and the United States become holy churches that carry the gospel to the ends of the earth and prepare the way for the Lord’s return.
Now, let Iran and the United States become one in the love of Jesus Christ, and raise up holy disciples who will go forth together to proclaim the gospel to all nations.
