[Today’s Prayer] Iran and the U.S.: “Immediate reopening of Hormuz followed by ceasefire… two-stage mediation proposal received”

Reuters reported that Iran and the United States have received a plan to end hostilities that would allow the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened, taking effect from the 6th (local time).

On this day, Reuters, citing sources familiar with the proposal, said that Pakistan had drawn up a basic framework to end hostilities and delivered it overnight to Iran and the United States, presenting a two-stage approach that begins with an immediate ceasefire and leads to a comprehensive agreement.

According to the proposal, the ceasefire would take effect immediately, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, and a comprehensive agreement would be finalized within 15 to 20 days. The agreement, tentatively named the “Islamabad Accord,” includes a regional framework for the Strait of Hormuz, and the final face-to-face talks are expected to be held in Islamabad.

Officials from the United States and Iran did not immediately respond. Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi declined to comment.

Iranian officials previously told Reuters that Tehran is seeking a permanent ceasefire that includes guarantees it will not be attacked again by the United States and Israel. They said Iran has received messages from mediating countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt.

According to the sources, the final agreement is expected to include Iran’s commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons development in exchange for sanctions relief and the release of frozen assets.

Two Pakistani sources said that despite increased civilian and military contacts, Iran has not yet made any commitments.

One source said, “Iran has not yet responded,” adding that no commitments have been secured so far even regarding a temporary ceasefire proposal supported by Pakistan, China, and the United States.

A faithful messenger refreshes the heart of the one who sent him, like cold water at harvest time. (Proverbs 25:13)

God the Father, as the war surrounding the Middle East continues to drag on, we hear news that Pakistan has delivered a proposal to Iran and the United States for negotiations to end the war.

Please have mercy on the land of the Middle East, where news of war and death does not cease despite the worsening global economic situation and mediation efforts by surrounding countries.

Though they speak of seeking a permanent ceasefire, we ask in the name of Jesus that the spirit of war, which drives nations to destroy and attack one another in order to gain what they want, would be broken, and that through the intervention of the faithful Lord, the best possible agreement would be reached between Iran and the United States.

At this time, when the sounds of war and suffering are everywhere, we know that You are seeking faithful messengers who will refresh the heart of the Master. Let the global Church strive to know Your heart and cry out all the more.

We believe that when the global Church prays together in the name of Jesus, Your will—who desires to give not death but life, and to give it abundantly—will soon be fulfilled.

And so, in Iran, the United States, Israel, and throughout the Middle East, instead of the sounds of death and war, let there be the sound of praise to Yeshua, the King of Peace.
