[Today's Prayer] India, Turkey, Azerbaijan Boycott Spreads… Backlash Against 'Siding with Pakistan'

As Turkey and Azerbaijan publicly supported Pakistan during the armed conflict between India and Pakistan, a boycott movement against the two countries is spreading within India.

On the 15th (local time), the Hindustan Times of India reported, citing two local travel agencies, that many Indians are canceling their trips to Turkey and Azerbaijan and excluding these countries from their list of popular tourist destinations.

Earlier, Turkey and Azerbaijan publicly expressed their support for Pakistan in relation to the terrorist attack that occurred in Pahalgam, India on the 22nd of last month and India's retaliatory operation, 'Operation Sindoor'.

An official from Indian travel platform MakeMyTrip said, "Over the past week, bookings for trips to Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have dropped by 60%, while cancellations have skyrocketed by 250%."

Rikant Piti, CEO of another travel agency EaseMyTrip, said, "Cancellations for trips to Turkmenistan have increased by 22%, while cancellations to Azerbaijan have increased by 30%," and explained, "Travelers are changing their destinations to places like Georgia, Serbia, Greece, Thailand, and Vietnam."

Nishant Piti, founder and chairman of EaseMyTrip, said, "Last year, 287,000 Indians visited Turkmenistan and 243,000 visited Azerbaijan," and asked, "Is it really right for us to help their tourism industry and economy when these countries are openly supporting Pakistan?"

Subhash Goyal, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “The tourism industry supports ethical and responsible tourism that is in line with national values,” and “Many tourism associations and industry groups have expressed their stance to prioritize national interests over commercial interests.”

He added, “The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry joins the call for boycotts of countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan that have opposed India’s anti-terrorism response,” and stressed, “Tourism should be a means for peace, harmony, and international understanding.”

However, God, your people desire to move forward in a different way from the world. Even if the world hates Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan for its own interests, please let the churches in India serve the people of Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan with the heart of God and spread the gospel!

The more Satan promotes division, the more we look to the Lord who unites the enemy with the cross and Jesus Christ, and pour out God’s heart in the Indian church so that we can be victorious!

May the Indian church rise up as a victorious church that turns its power to God and advances with the majesty of the Lord who wants to save all nations according to God’s vision, not as Satan and the world want!
