[Today’s Prayer] Houthis launch missile toward Israel… tensions rise along Red Sea shipping routes

As the conflict triggered by U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran continues into its fourth week, the Iran-aligned Houthi armed group in Yemen has launched a missile attack targeting Israel, effectively declaring full-scale involvement.

On the 28th (local time), the Israeli military confirmed that a missile launched from Yemen was approaching its territory and stated that it activated its air defense system to intercept it.

This attack marks the first time the Houthis have taken direct military action since the U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran on the 28th of last month.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a statement that they had carried out an operation targeting Israeli military objectives, claiming it was a measure to support the so-called “axis of resistance,” including Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine. He also stated that military operations would continue until related attacks are halted.

Meanwhile, as tensions persist in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route, instability is spreading to the Red Sea, raising concerns about disruptions to global maritime logistics and instability in energy markets.

Heavenly Father, we hear the news that as the conflict sparked by U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran continues into its fourth week, the Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen have launched a missile attack against Israel, declaring full-scale involvement.

Lord, we ask that the people of Iran, Israel, and Yemen would quickly come to know the love of Jesus Christ, who poured out His blood and water for them, so that true peace and forgiveness may come upon them.

Please comfort the souls in Israel, Yemen, and Iran who are trembling in fear amid ongoing war and airstrikes. We ask that You would guide the hearts of decision-makers so that attacks against one another would cease, and that life-giving decisions would be made.

As tensions continue in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea due to ongoing airstrikes, global maritime logistics and energy supplies are being shaken. God, in the midst of the economic difficulties faced by nations, we ask that You would extend Your grace so that further economic instability does not spread, and that logistics and energy systems may quickly stabilize and restore economic security.

May all the churches in Israel, Iran, and Yemen be united through the gospel of the cross. Let the love of the cross, where blood and water were poured out, be revealed more fully among each church. Also, raise up holy churches that proclaim the gospel to all suffering souls and prepare the way for the Lord’s return.
