[Today’s Prayer] Hezbollah's new leader: 'We will remain on the path to war'
Naeem Qassem, the new leader of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, announced on the 30th (local time) that the group will continue its war with Israel.
According to AFP and Reuters, in a pre-recorded speech aired on Al-Manar TV that day, Qassem said, “Hezbollah is not fighting on behalf of anyone,” and “We will continue to stay on the path of war according to our plan within the political framework.”
He explained, “Iran supports us, but we do not want anything in return,” and “We are fighting Israel to defend Lebanese territory.”
He added, “If you want to reduce the damage, withdraw from our land immediately. Otherwise, you will pay a higher price than you have paid so far,” and emphasized, “We can fight for days, weeks, and months more.”
Secretary-General Qassem also said he planned to follow the agenda set by his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, adding that “if Israel decides to stop its aggression, we can accept it under appropriate conditions,” but added that there was no acceptable proposal yet.
He was the organization’s second-in-command, and had been leading the organization for about a month since Nasrallah’s assassination on the 27th of last month, before being elected as the organization’s head the day before. This is his first speech as secretary-general.
The Israeli military also issued new evacuation orders for several villages in southern Lebanon, including Nabatieh, from which evacuation orders had already been issued weeks ago.
Israeli ground forces are also moving deeper into key areas in the south, including attempting to enter the southern village of Qiam, Lebanese media reported. “The Israeli forces attempted to enter under heavy fire from fighter jets, drones, and artillery,”
The Israeli military said it killed Mustafa Ahmad Shahadi, the deputy commander of Hezbollah’s special operations unit Radwan, in a targeted airstrike in Nabatieh on the same day. The Israeli military
claimed that Shahadi “commanded Radwan’s operations in Syria and supervised terrorist attacks in southern Lebanon.”

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” (Timothy 3:1,3,5)
You hear that Naim Qassem, the new head of Hezbollah, has stated that the organization will continue its war against Israel.
May you forgive and reign in the heartlessness of those who remain on the path of war based solely on their own beliefs and values, even though they can only look to Jesus for the answer to what is right.
As we see the news that Israeli forces are also moving deeper into key areas of the south, I can only wonder how long the unquenchable anger between the two sides has been going on.
We desire for the people to be transformed by your goodness. Break all heartlessness and resentment, that we may not be followers of false gods, but followers of Jesus and doers of good works.
Have compassion on the souls who bear the pain and anxiety of war, for it is in this time that we must see life rise faster than death.
Allow them be a people who follow the cross of Jesus, not their own beliefs, so that your reign may be established in Israel, Lebanon, and Iran!
