[Today’s Prayer] Hezbollah: 'Rocket attack on military facility in northern Israel'
Updated: Oct 28
Hezbollah, a pro-Iran armed group in Lebanon, announced on the 27th (local time) that it had fired a rocket toward a military industrial base in Haifa, an industrial city on Israel's northern coast.
Hezbollah also ordered the evacuation of civilians from the Israeli territories of Kiryat Shmona and Nahariya, bordering the city, for the first time since fighting with Israeli forces.
AFP and dpa reported that this came just a day after Hezbollah designated 25 Israeli sites as "legitimate targets" due to the deployment of Israeli troops.
Lebanon's Health Ministry said at least two people were killed and 11 others wounded in an Israeli airstrike in the southern city of Sidon on Monday. AFP reported that an apartment building in the area was destroyed.
At least 45 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting the Jabalia refugee camp and other areas in the Gaza Strip, the Associated Press reported.
The Israeli military said on Monday that four of its soldiers were killed in fighting with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon the previous evening. This brings the number of Israeli casualties since the ground war against Hezbollah began last month to 33.

Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts. The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes. (Psalm 119:94-95)
God, we hear that Hezbollah has fired missiles at Israeli military installations, and that Israel has also attacked the Sidon region of Lebanon and the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza.
In this endless war, not only the soldiers but also civilians are being attacked. We ask that You comfort these people in fear, and we thank You, as You say that the people of Israel and the Arab nations belong to You. We ask You to save these souls as they call upon Your name.
We pray especially for the churches in Israel, Lebanon, and Palestine. While the governments of this world are angry with one another and seek opportunities and schemes to destroy one another, may Christ's church seek only Your law. Help us to forgive, love, and pray for one another.
May we embrace and minister to the souls who are wounded and weary from the long war around the church and see them rise up to the hope of heaven, so that in these troubled times You may do a great work of salvation through the church body. May the brotherly conflict between Isaac and Ishmael cease, and may we become one in Christ, preparing the way for Yeshua's return!
