[Today’s Prayer] Gaza Strip on the edge of a cliff... “There is no place to evacuate…

As armed conflict resumed after the breakdown of temporary ceasefire negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian armed faction Hamas, the international community condemned the humanitarian response, saying it had reached an impossible level.

Mirjana Spoljarik, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who visited the Gaza Strip on the 4th (local time) expressed concern over the resumption of fighting between the Israeli military and Hamas and urged the resumption of a temporary humanitarian ceasefire.

After the resumption of fighting between the two sides, the Israeli military's air strikes area expanded to the southern part of the Gaza Strip, forcing residents who had already left their homes to abandon their refuges and take shelter somewhere else.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that he had been notified by the Israeli military to evacuate aid warehouses in the southern Gaza Strip of Palestine within 24 hours, and urged that the order be withdrawn.

Accordingly, concerns are growing in the international community that the already enormous number of Palestinian civilian casualties may increase further. The Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip's health ministry said 15,900 people, mostly women and children, have died since the war broke out on October 7.

On the other hand, Israel repeatedly emphasized its position that it would strengthen its offensive to eliminate Hamas, while saying they would make efforts to reduce civilian casualties.

At a briefing held that day, a high-ranking Israeli official responded to media reports that the death toll of Hamas members was about 5,000, saying that this figure was “approximately correct” and repeatedly emphasizing that Hamas was setting up civilians as “human shields” as a “core strategy.” “We are doing everything in our power to reduce civilian casualties,” he said, “but this is part of the consequences of war.”

36 “If they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy, so that they are carried away captive to a land far or near, 37 yet if they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’39 then hear from heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their pleas, and maintain their cause and forgive your people who have sinned against you. 2 chronicles 6:36-37, 39

God, the Israel-Palestine war is still going on. Among them, many people were hurt physically and mentally and lost their loved ones.

I believe that God, who gave his son’s life, knows those tears better than anyone else.

God, the world is paying attention to this war and calling for humanitarian action, but in the name of clean-up, we are talking about another death.

Lord, may the killing of each other and taking revenge for whatever reason come to stop.

Please forgive the sins of those who do not hesitate to take life for their own benefit and glory. It seems as if sin has blinded them and is dragging them around like prisoners.

It seems like they have come so far that no one can stop them, but the Lord can save them.

God, please help both nations realize their sins, repent, and become Your holy people.

Let them come before the Lord again, worship Him, and become Your joy!
