The number of deaths from floods and landslides in Indonesia's Sumatra Island has exceeded 1,000.

According to Reuters, EFE, and AFP on the 13th (local time), the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency reported that over the past two weeks, 1,330 people have died and 218 are missing in three provinces of North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh due to floods and landslides caused by recent heavy rains.

The number of injured in 52 areas of three provinces, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, has reached 5,400.

The National Disaster Management Agency explained that 1,200 public facilities, 219 medical facilities, 581 educational facilities, and 434 religious facilities have been damaged.

Especially in Aceh, which has been hit hardest, about 60% of the area is still without electricity, and many evacuees in temporary shelters are facing shortages of relief supplies such as water and medicine.
