[Today's Prayer] Death Toll Continues to Rise in Middle East War… Iran Surpasses 1,300, Lebanon Surpasses 120

According to Reuters and AFP on the 7th (local time), Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s Ambassador to the UN, citing the Iranian Red Crescent, stated that at least 1,332 people have died in Iran since the 28th of last month.

In retaliation by Iran, 11 people died in Israel and 6 U.S. troops were killed.

Israel has been expanding its attacks on Lebanon since the pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah attacked in retaliation for the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 123 people were killed and 683 injured due to Israeli attacks. Additionally, according to the Norwegian Refugee Council, approximately 300,000 people have fled Lebanon in the past four days.

The previous day, after issuing evacuation orders for the entire southern region of Beirut, Israel launched intensive bombings on the city, and clashes broke out on the border between Lebanon and Syria as Israel attempted an incursion.

Heavenly Father, we hear the news that due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, 1,332 people have died in Iran, 11 in Israel due to Iranian retaliation, and 123 in Lebanon due to Israeli attacks, with 300,000 people fleeing Lebanon. In all these situations where nations have become each other's enemies and tensions are escalating, we seek Your will and grace as we pray.

Lord, please remember the countless bereaved families who have lost loved ones in sudden attacks. Please wipe away the tears of those souls who are in sorrow and distress after losing their precious family members. For the injured who are suffering in body and mind, cover them with the blood of Jesus Christ and grant them a speedy recovery.

Lord, we desire for this cycle of sin and death—of constant retaliation—to stop. From the citizens of Dubai and Bahrain trembling under air raid warnings, let the shadow of death looming over the entire Middle East be lifted. May the God of Justice dwell in the hearts of each nation's leaders, so that instead of hatred and seeking their own interests, You may grant them holy hearts that cherish life.

We believe that You have preserved the Iranian church, the Israeli church, the Lebanese church, and the Middle Eastern church. We believe that when they gather to pray and worship You even amidst the pain of war, the gates of heaven will open and Your grace will pour down like a waterfall upon all the regions suffering from bombings and conflict. As they draw near to You, let all fearful hearts depart, and fill them further with the hope of heaven, so they may be established as holy churches that spread the Kingdom of God to their suffering neighbors.

Lord, at this time, we desire for the global church to pray even more with tears. Let us pray until the end for the nations suffering in war, and let the fruits of prayer be borne in Iran, Israel, and throughout the Middle East.

Lord, who performs great things beyond our measurement, we believe that this time of global suffering through war is the time when You will do a new thing. Even in suffering, let holy churches rise up further, faithfully believing in Your return and fulfilling the Great Commission. May the people of Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and all Middle Eastern nations rise up in victory, following Yeshua who overcame the power of death!
