(Today’s prayer) “Conflict in Gaza continues… “we are concerned about children’s mental health.

Save the Children, an international children's rights NGO, expressed concern that the mental health of children in the Gaza Strip has been pushed into a serious crisis, due to the recent month-long conflict between Palestine and Israel.

In the past month, 4,008 children are believed to have died in the Gaza Strip and 1,270 are missing or buried under rubble, and 43 children are said to have lost their lives in the West Bank. In Israel, 31 children have died, and about 30 children are being held hostage by Hamas.

Currently, in the Gaza Strip, airstrikes continue to target densely populated civilian areas such as schools and hospitals; leaving numerous children cut off from safe spaces and relief supplies.

The Gaza Strip's Ministry of Health reports that over the past four weeks, 444 families have lost 2-5 family members in the Gaza Strip, and 192 families have lost 10 or more family members. Children who lose their parents and are left alone, cannot receive 'family support', which is the key to overcoming trauma, which can have a very negative impact on their mental health.

Many children experience the typical trauma of violence, including anxiety and fear, concerns about their own safety and the safety of their loved ones, nightmares, terrifying memories, insomnia, emotional suppression and avoidance. Caregivers must also take care of their children's emotional responses while enduring stressful situations and facing difficulties. As the violence in the Gaza Strip intensifies, this trauma response worsens and is accumulating every day.

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.T he Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the Lord. (Psalms 146: 7-9)

Our God is the father of orphans and widows, who feeds and dresses the poor

Over the past month, 4,000 people have died and more than 1,000 are missing, bringing sad news of the loss of family members everywhere.

We confess that Jesus is the only one who can comfort, protect, and save them

O LORD, pay attention to this people who are suffering and bawling. Cover them with eternal peace from heaven to cover all the anxiety, fear, and trauma that surrounds them.

Let them know that God, who is sadder and more hurt because of their pain and suffering, is by their side.

Holy Spirit, lead these souls to seek you in Spirit; protect them and allow them to say the name of the Lord who makes the way.

Let the children of this land, filled with sorrow and tears, be glad in you Lord. Let the day filled with praise and hopes of heaven come quickly.
