[Today’s prayer] Armenia decides to withdraw from Azerbaijan border villages... Promoting territorial boundary agreement

Azerbaijan and Armenia, which have been pushing for a peace agreement after last year's territorial dispute, agreed to clearly demarcate their territorial boundaries and decided to carry out joint work on border demarcation.

According to TASS and Bloomberg News, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafaev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mer Grigoryan held a meeting at the border area of the two countries on the 19th (local time) and resolved major border issues.

Armenia has decided to withdraw from several border villages within Azerbaijan, which it has effectively occupied since the early 1990s.

Information was mixed about exactly how many villages were subject to evacuation.

The Armenian Prime Minister's Office said through Telegram that "two villages and about half of another village will be returned to Azerbaijan" in the northeastern border area.

Azerbaijan's state-run news agency Azartak quoted an official from the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying, "Armenia has decided to return four border villages."

These villages were occupied by the Armenian side during the territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which became independent after the dissolution of the former Soviet Union in 1991. In terms of the border, it is within Azerbaijani territory, but it is effectively controlled by Armenia.

The two countries agreed to finalize a draft agreement to demarcate the border by July 1 to prevent a recurrence of conflict.

The two countries agreed to respect the territorial boundaries established in the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, in which Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to recognize each other's administrative borders.

The reason for the two countries, who have been engaged in a territorial dispute for 30 years, to begin peace negotiations was because the victory suddenly shifted towards Azerbaijan after the armed conflict that took place in Nagorno-Karabakh, a key disputed area, in September last year.

This area is Azerbaijani land, but was occupied by Armenian separatist forces.

Separatist forces established a self-proclaimed republic and operated an army.

The two countries engaged in large and small skirmishes over this region, which was called the 'powder keg of the Caucasus'.

However, in September of last year, Azerbaijan carried out a large-scale airstrike, effectively neutralizing separatist forces in the region, and Armenia appeared to be responding to the peace agreement without even using its power properly.

Of the 120,000 Armenian residents, about 100,000 moved to Armenia.

Since then, under the mediation of the European Union (EU) and Russia, negotiations have been conducted between the two sides in a way that guarantees the safety of the remaining Armenian residents but recognizes Azerbaijan's right to control it.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. (Psalms 33:12)

Azerbaijan and Armenia, which have been pushing for a peace agreement since last year's territorial dispute, have agreed to set clear their territorial boundaries

The two countries, which have been engaged in a 30-year territorial dispute over the area, which was called the " Caucasian Powder Keg," have been engaged in large and small skirmishes.

Let both Islamic Azerbaijan and Christian Armenia, which have long been in conflict with numerous casualties, become the people chosen as the inheritance of God, a country that has made Jehovah as their own God.

We believe this can only be done with the blood of Yeshua's cross, as the day of the Lord return nears, let Armenia and Azerbaijan be the nation that rises together with God's dreams and visions.
