Another clash occurred between Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban forces and the Pakistani military, resulting in the deaths of 15 civilians.

According to Reuters and AFP on the 15th (local time), Ali Mohammad Haqmal,

spokesperson for Afghanistan’s local intelligence department, said that overnight fighting broke out in Spin Boldak, southern Afghanistan, leaving 15 civilians dead.

Abdul Jan Barak, an official from a hospital in the Spin Boldak area, confirmed the number of casualties to AFP and added that more than 80 women and children were injured.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, claimed that Pakistan launched an attack in Spin Boldak early in the morning and that the Taliban killed several Pakistani soldiers.

On the other hand, Pakistani authorities blamed the Taliban for the clash and stated that four civilians were injured inside Pakistan’s border.

Habib Ullah Bangulzai, an administrator from Pakistan’s Chaman region, said, “Taliban forces attacked a Pakistani outpost near Chaman,” adding that the battle lasted about five hours before dawn and that Pakistani troops repelled the attack.

Earlier on the 12th, the Taliban and Pakistan had also engaged in an armed conflict that resulted in hundreds of deaths. The Taliban claimed that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed, while the Pakistani military asserted that 23 of its own soldiers and more than 200 Taliban-linked fighters were killed.

Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. (Psalm 105:4)

God, we have heard the news that fighting between Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban forces and the Pakistani military in southern Spin Boldak has resulted in the deaths of 15 civilians, with more than 80 women and children injured, and 4 civilians wounded inside Pakistan’s border.

Lord, please be with the souls of those in Afghanistan and Pakistan who are grieving the loss of their families due to the ongoing clashes between the Taliban and Pakistan. Grant them Your eternal comfort and healing hand.

When Afghanistan and Pakistan seek Your face, may the Taliban forces—who follow Islam and remain loyal to ideologies contrary to God’s Word—lose their strength. Through the power of the cross of Jesus Christ, silence the long-standing hostility, clashes, and terrorism that have bound Afghanistan and Pakistan.

With the love and power of the Most High God, deliver the Afghan and Pakistani peoples from sin, and let the gospel of truth be proclaimed throughout both nations.

Also, Lord, dwell among the churches in Afghanistan and Pakistan that are being revived through prayer and the Word amid much persecution. Grant them faith to look beyond fear and suffering toward the eternal joy and hope of Your Kingdom.

Let the churches of Afghanistan and Pakistan faithfully follow the way of the cross according to God’s Word, and may the global Church join together to bear the cross of these two nations, sowing the seeds of the gospel with tears.

Arise, Afghanistan—the holy warrior of the last days! Arise, Pakistan—the fearless final weapon of the gospel!
