The British daily The Guardian reported on the 9th (local time) that more than 9,000 children in the Gaza Strip were hospitalized with severe acute malnutrition during the month of October.

During the same period, 8,300 pregnant and breastfeeding women were also hospitalized due to severe malnutrition.

The United Nations explained that 2.2 million Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip suffer from chronic shortages of supplies due to homelessness and living in shelters, and most of them cannot afford to buy essential goods directly.

The UN pointed out that especially after the ceasefire, Israel has restricted the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, further limiting the supply of goods.

This month, an average of 140 trucks carrying relief supplies entered Gaza daily through a convoy organized by the UN and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), but this is far below the target of 600 trucks per day set at the time of the ceasefire agreement.
