[Today's Prayer] 66 Dead and 127 Injured in Pakistan Due to Monsoon Rains Over 10 Days

In Pakistan, 66 people have lost their lives and 127 have been injured across the country due to monsoon rains over a ten-day period starting June 26, according to an announcement on the 5th (local time) by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The NDMA stated that amid extreme weather conditions and heavy rain damage across the country, two more people died and ten additional weather-related injuries occurred over the past two days.

According to the NDMA, the region with the highest number of fatalities was the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 24 people, including 11 children, died.

Among them, 14 were swept away and killed by flash floods in the Swat Valley last week.

In Punjab, 22 people including 11 children died due to collapsed houses and sudden flooding caused by the heavy rain. Sindh reported 15 deaths, and Balochistan had 5 fatalities.

In the regions of Kashmir and Azad Jammu, three injuries were reported.

May the Church in Pakistan all the more proclaim the love of Jesus on the cross in this time, and may You restore the broken lives of the Pakistani people, so that Your peace may rest upon the land of Pakistan.

Lord who moves mountains, swiftly restore the collapsed roads, and ensure that the spreading of the gospel proceeds unhindered.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, as the gospel is proclaimed throughout the affected areas and even a mustard seed-sized faith is sown, may churches rise up in those regions as communities of refuge for many souls.

May the global Church unite and offer material support, so that homes may be rebuilt on the devastated land of Pakistan, and the difficult lives of the Pakistani people may be restored by Your grace.
