The Pakistani government has arrested four suspects in the recent bomb terror attack in the capital Islamabad, in which 12 people were killed and 27 injured.

According to AFP and other sources on the 15th (local time), the Pakistani government announced that it had arrested four members of a militant faction suspected of involvement in the suicide bombing that occurred near the Islamabad district court on the 11th.

It added that these four individuals were three members and one suspected commander of the factional group and that they were linked to the separatist militant organization Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In a statement, the Pakistani government said, “This group was based in Afghanistan, receiving management and orders from its leadership,” and explained that the person who detonated the bomb was someone who had lived in Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan.

One person involved in the attack confessed that he received orders through Telegram from one of the TTP commanders to “carry out a suicide bombing to inflict maximum damage on law enforcement agencies.”

The commander who ordered the attack is currently in Afghanistan and is known to be responsible for intelligence for the TTP in the Bajaur region of Afghanistan.

TTP, an extremist organization formed by Sunni Islamic militant groups, aims to overthrow the Pakistani government and establish a state governed by Islamic law.

They differ from the Afghan Taliban but share similar ideologies and are reported to have maintained cooperation for a long time. They are also known to frequently travel between Afghanistan and Pakistan while conducting various terrorist activities and maintaining major hideouts in Afghanistan.
