Hello? I'm Noor, who returned to Syria from Lebanon.
As a Syrian refugee, I accepted Jesus through the Twelve Disciples School community in Lebanon a few years ago and recently returned to Syria. After returning to Syria and declaring my intention to spread the gospel, I've realized just how complex this country is.
Syrians are very strict in their religious beliefs and pay great attention to every detail. They are required to wear long clothes, and even those who don't usually wear hijabs must wear them when entering schools. They are also very strict about observing set prayer times.
What's particularly difficult is the 'culture of gossip and constant talking' in Syria, especially in rural areas. Since everyone knows each other well, even the smallest actions I take can quickly become a big issue.
Not only the adults, but even children and teenagers in Syria are not receptive to new ideas. Whenever I propose something new, they either reject it outright or try to change it quickly. The mindset of the Syrian people is really hard to understand.
Unlike Lebanon, there are no churches at all in these rural areas of Syria. The few churches that exist are just formal ones in the cities, with no revival. There's no atmosphere of mutual encouragement, and no one is sharing the gospel.
I really need a lot of prayer. I don't know how to spread the gospel in this environment, but I trust that the Lord will guide me in all my steps.
I also pray that even if there's danger to my life, I will try my best to spread the gospel. Please pray that the Lord will give me boldness and guide me.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, saying, Turn yourselves unto me now from your iniquities, and I will turn away the captivity of your iniquity.
But ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Thus saith the LORD; I will lay the foundation of peace in you, and all the broken places of you I will heal; and I will make you as a plant of renown in the land, and you shall know that I am the LORD, when I deal with you for your names' sake, not for your idols' sake, saith the LORD LORD.
I love Sister Noor, and I praise the Lord for guiding her to hear the gospel while she was a Syrian refugee in Lebanon and helping her to spread the gospel in Syria.
It's not easy to spread the gospel in Syria, where people are only focused on religion after the civil war ended. I hope the Lord will increase her faith with His words and the Holy Spirit and guide her in spreading the gospel soon.
In Syria, where people are easily offended by even the smallest things and are not easily persuaded to change, I hope the grace of Jesus Christ will spread through Sister Noor and transform the hearts of the Syrian people.
As Sister Noor shares the gospel and vision with the churches in Syria, which are spiritually dormant, I hope the Lord will shake them awake and lead them to spread the gospel to all nations, so that the precious souls of Syria and all nations can be filled with the glory of the cross.
May the Twelve Disciples School community in Lebanon join in prayer to further minister to the remaining Syrian souls in Lebanon and lead them to revival, so that the glory of God may be fully manifested in these churches!
May Syria fulfill the word of God and restore the glory of the blessed nation among all nations!
