[Field Story] The holy nation that has become brothers of Jesus, Palestine

Hello, my name is Juma and I am Palestinian.

In the city where I live, there are many people who have sorrow and anger due to facing alienation from the world.

As a Muslim, I also had anger and resentment, especially towards the Israeli people, but thankfully I came to know the love of Jesus Christ and became a Christian.

Especially in this land, there are many young people who are strongly fighting in opposition of Israel, and as a result, conflict with Israel has been common even before the war.

Now that the war has begun, it seems as if soaring hostility and conflict toward the Israeli people, as well as deadly, burning anger, are gripping the young people here.

However, on the other hand, many young people are facing the reality of having to sustain a living and are worrying about going to work and making a living even during the war.

As I look at the young people of this land that are filled with confusion and fear, I seek the kingdom of God every day.

I believe that both the nation of Israel and the nation of Palestine are children of God. Please pray with me that the war will quickly come to an end and that the love of Jesus Christ will be spread in this land so that the kingdom of God may come.

For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” (Hebrews 2:11-12)

Our God of love, we thank you for calling Sister Juma from Palestine to be a lover of Jesus. Even in these times that make us hate one another, may you bless this sister who is seeking and praying for the kingdom of God.

Through the faith and leadership of Sister Juma, whom you have raised up in Palestine, may many more young people come before you with the hope of the kingdom of God, praising the name of Jesus.

In addition, as the war between Israel and Hamas intensifies, and as the anger and hostility of Muslims toward the Israeli people increase, we look to the nation of Palestine that is suffering in a life of uncertainty as they struggle with livelihood and reality. As the Lord, who hears the sound of their groaning, heals their hearts that are stained with hatred and hurt, may this nation turn from the path of not serving the Lord and receive the great salvation that has redeemed all our sins.

Lord, just like Sister Juma's confession, we believe that the nation of Israel and the nation of Palestine are brothers that were purchased with the holy blood of Jesus. May the young people of faith awake and arise, and may the two nations no longer clash swords and spears with each other, but forgive one another and declare love in the grace of God!

Therefore, may all conflict between Israel and Palestine be cut off, and may this land become a land that is ruled only by God!
