[Field Story] ‘Same-sex couple marriage registration’ First international sexual minority tourism conference in Nepal next month
LGBT+ people in Nepal, located in the Himalayas, will hold the first international LGBT tourism conference next month.
According to the Nepali daily The Kathmandu Post on the 14th (local time), this conference will be held in the capital Kathmandu for two days starting from the 18th of next month under the sponsorship of the World Bank (WB), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and the International LGBT+ Travel Association (IGLTA).
LGBT+ is a concept that includes lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, and other sexual minorities.
This is the first time that Nepalese sexual minorities have held such an event.
At the end of last month, a same-sex couple in Nepal became the first in South Asia to register their marriage with administrative authorities after a long struggle.
They explained that at this time they decided to hold this international conference with the purpose of starting to make Nepal another travel location of 'holy land' for sexual minorities around the world, contributing to the advancement of rights and interests of discriminated sexual minorities, and reviving the stagnant tourism industry.
Sunil Babu Pant, who is a sexual minority and served as a member of Nepal's Constituent Assembly, said in a briefing on the previous day's meeting, "Nepal is considered a beacon of hope and a defender of sexual minority rights in South Asia," and added, "Now, 'pink tourism' (sex tourism) is a potential business opportunity for Nepal." “It is time to try out minority tourism,” he said.
“We would like to invite prominent figures from the sexual minority community around the world,” Pant said, adding, “The number of overseas participants will likely be slightly more than 100, but this is just the beginning.”
It is known that Nepalese sexual minorities want Nepal to promote pink tourism worth billions of dollars like Spain and Thailand.

According to LGBT Capital, an asset management company specializing in LGBT, the annual spending capacity of sexual minorities around the world was estimated at $4.7 trillion as of last year. Additionally, it is estimated that there are about 388 million sexual minorities aged 15 or older around the world.

7 And he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." 8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality." (Revelation 14:7-8)
We praise Jehovah God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who created all nations according to His will and made them His children.
Lord, we hear that a same-sex couple registered their marriage in Nepal last year, and that an international LGBT tourism conference is now being held.
Would You come as the Spirit of truth among these people who do not fear Your Word and wander into sin by following human desires although the Lord has called it an abomination. Please help Nepal become a country that discerns the plans of the evil Satan.
Would You rebuke Satan who confuses the souls of Nepal and countless people. Let us see that all spiritual Babylon falls and only the glory of Christ fills Nepal.
Let Nepal no longer be regarded as a beacon of hope for sexual minorities, but as Your holy people and a beacon of hope for Christ, leading all nations to the Lord.
Let all peoples through Nepal lift their eyes to God, the Creator, who is the source of heaven, earth, sea, and water, and let them fall down in awe of Him alone and praise Him.
