[Field Story] Jordan, the Pathway of the Gospel
(The photo above is unrelated to the content).
Hello, my name is Hamid, a Syrian refugee living in Jordan. Most Syrian refugees living here in Jordan have difficult financial circumstances and living conditions in the family, so both men and women start working after the age of 14.
Like my other friends, I also started working at an early age, but I always had a desire to learn. I didn't want to waste my life doing simple labor in a factory every day to make a living, and I thought about the direction of my life every day.
Then one day, a new hope came to me. This hope was that I accepted Jesus.
Through the love of Jesus Christ who died on the cross, my life has been filled with new grace and joy.
I created a gathering where I could study and worship with friends who had accepted Jesus with me, and there I was praying and moving forward to live following after Jesus.
However, recently, we are facing difficulties due to my uncle who is opposed to this gathering. Please pray with me that I will trust in the Lord who guides the lives of my friends and I and that I will not lose hope in faith, and that although we have the status of refugees, we would be used by the Lord.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:5-7)
God, we thank you for answering the longing of Brother Hamid, who was living such a difficult life as a refugee. Through our brother's desire for learning, may you allow him to deeply ponder the Word, remain in the Word, and bear fruit in obedience.
May he abide in the vine, Yeshua, and bear much fruit of the Holy Spirit, turning countless refugees and souls to our Lord.
Along with his brothers in faith, may he live following only after Yeshua and prepare the way for the Lord to come. We believe that Hamid's uncle, who is opposed to the gathering, will also be transformed through the prayers of many people.
As brother Hamid and his friends abide in Yeshua and the Word abides in them, may they ask and receive, and may their families also return to the Lord.
Let Jordan, where countless refugees live, become a pathway of the gospel and a pathway of blessings. May the Jordanian church serve the refugees with love and rise up together so that through these bitter and poor people, the final great revival can take place and head towards Jerusalem.
