[2024 Ramadan Day 28] Preparing the King’s way for the return of Jesus Christ through the spirituality of John the Baptist, Jordan
Jordan is a country of refugees, with 70% of its population of approximately 10 million made up of refugees from wars in Palestine, Syria, and Iraq. Although 96% of the population is Muslim and 4% Christian, less than 0.1% are evangelical Christians.
The early church in Israel established a church in Jordan to avoid persecution, and this land used to be a Christian land. However, 1,400 years ago, Islam entered this land and took over, and due to the persecution of Christians, many people converted to Islam. The remaining churches also claim that for peace they do not preach the gospel to Muslims and only keep their own beliefs.
Now that Ramadan has begun, even those who normally do not clearly believe in Islam must show others their prayers when it is time to pray, so everyone from children to young people and adults come to the mosque to pray and further confirm their Islamic faith. Although life is difficult, they say they are all good and it appears that there is a strong blind faith in Islam in this land.
Additionally, due to the last Israeli-Palestinian war, Palestinians in Jordan are growing sad and angry as they watch the war broadcasted on television every day. Demonstrations and boycotts are infuriating them even more, and Satan is using this to create chaos in this land.
The Jordanian church's view of Muslims is that they are different beings living in different cultures rather than as objects of love and service. Therefore, Muslims are not very open to the Jordanian church and live with a negative perception of Christianity itself.
We believe that the Lord, who is preparing to bring about the final Arab revival, will surely transform the Jordanian church and establish it as a church that wants to die for the Lord! All the refugees, citizens, and the church of Jordan will rise up as the King's army of 120,000!
Of the Reubenites and Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh from beyond the Jordan, 120,000 men armed with all the weapons of war. All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel. Likewise, all the rest of Israel were of a single mind to make David king.(1 Chronicles 12:37-38).
[Today’s Prayer]
1. Let the Jordanian church wake up and become a church that can bring about revival in this land. Let the Jordanian church not follow the Lord to live, but follow the Lord to die, and mourn and pray for the countless people groups in this land.
2. May the strong spirit of Islam that is binding Jordan and blocking them from seeing the Lord be broken! In front of the name of Jesus, all darkness be casted away at this time and let Jordan become a people who see the light of the Lord during Ramadan.
3. We desire that all refugees in suffering, Jordan’s own people, and the churches will rise up as the King's army of 120,000. Just like the king’s army that devoted all their heart to making David king, let Jordan become an army of 120,000 who worship with all their heart the way of Jesus’ return. Let Jordan confess with the spirituality of John the Baptist ‘He must increase and we must decrease’, and let Jordan, the King’s army of 120,000 rise up!
