[2024 Ramadan Day 21] Rise as the living water of Sahara! Army of God, Mauritania

The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand (Isaiah 14:24).

As an Islamic Republic, Mauritania officially boasts a 100% Muslim population, and in 2018, the law was revised to impose the death penalty for blaspheming Islam.

Mauritania is located in the southwest of the Maghreb window, and is geographically located between sub-Saharan African countries and Arab Berber countries such as Morocco and Algeria to the north, so various ethnic groups come together to form a nation.

However, most of the vested rights are held by a small number of Arab Berber people, and as a result, other ethnic groups who are alienated retain deep dissatisfaction and hatred toward those with vested rights. In addition, the black Moors who lived as slaves were liberated in 1981, but due to poor government support policies and low levels of education, they live as the lowest class in society and are forced to rely on the Quran without any hope. As a result, Mauritanian young people who have lost hope in this country have been making desperate efforts over the past year to go to Europe or the United States by sea, land, and other channels.

Mauritania's next generation of young people are longing for true freedom and hope, but have given up on any expectations for the future in a country full of corruption and fraud where a few vested parties take all the profit. There is nowhere to find comfort and they are living each day without hope.

During this Ramadan, many souls in Mauritania are fasting, but it is only a formal, religious period and they are fasting without any meaning. At sunset, when fasting ends, some souls go straight to eating without even praying, and during the day, they spend most of their time sleeping or looking at their cell phones.

A week before Ramadan began, one Mauritanian brother and one Nigerian brother were baptized, denying the contradictions and duplicity taught in the Quran and accepted Jesus who is the truth, as the true Savior. The Mauritanian brother who was baptized confessed, "I could feel the Holy Spirit entering and dwelling deeply within me, and the Lord took away the sadness and anxiety that had been inside me! I was filled with indescribable joy!!" Hallelujah! The Lord is doing a new work in Mauritania!

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)

Amen! Mauritania will drink the living water that Jesus gives and will never be thirsty again. They will have eternal life and finally rise up as the living water of Sahara, spreading Jesus Christ to the nations beyond the Maghreb!

We believe that what God has planned and purposed, so shall it be and so shall it stand!!

[Today’s prayer]

1. During Ramadan, as the young generation local ministers become more devoted to serving souls and preaching the gospel, may the hope of Jesus Christ be planted in the souls of Mauritania who are living without hope in darkness.

2. Through the young people who have accepted Jesus Christ and all believers on this land, may churches that the gates of Hades cannot overcome be planted, and a new revival be poured upon this land.
