[선교지 소식] 하늘의 별 같이 셀 수 없을 만큼 부흥할 티벳

Hello, my name is Dorje, and I live in Tibet.

I was born to a Tibetan mother from China and a Tibetan diaspora father from Nepal. After living in China, I eventually moved to Nepal.

When I was seven years old, my parents sent me to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. After eight years there, I was never able to fully adapt to monastic life, and at the age of fifteen, I left the monastery and returned to my parents.

Around that time, through my mother, I met a Korean teacher. Afterward, I attended high school, helped with household responsibilities, and began participating in worship gatherings at my teacher's recommendation.

As I spent time with Korean students my age, I developed a desire to know Jesus more deeply.

Not long after graduating from high school, I confessed my faith in Jesus. Even now, I continue to attend worship services and learn more about Him.

Although the Buddhist beliefs and worldview I learned while growing up in a Buddhist family and monastery still remain within me, I want to live as a young man who follows the Lord wholeheartedly, trusting in the goodness of God who has guided me this far.

Please pray that as I learn the wisdom of Jesus, I will embrace a vision not only for Tibet but also for the nations and run forward with that calling.

“Fear the Lord your God and serve Him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His name. He is your praise; He is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes. Your ancestors who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.” (Deuteronomy 10:20–22)

Lord, thank You for loving our brother Dorje, allowing him to hear the gospel, and calling him into worship and fellowship with You.

May the Holy Spirit shine the light of Your Word upon the Buddhist ideas that remain deeply rooted in his life, uprooting everything that stands against the truth of the gospel. Make him a man who boldly proclaims that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.

As Dorje sees the heartbreaking reality of Tibetan youth scattered throughout China and Nepal seeking their identity and roots in Tibetan Buddhism, may You use his testimony to lead many of them to Jesus. Give him a vision that extends beyond Tibet to serving China’s ethnic minorities and the nations of the world.

For this purpose, may Tibetan churches faithfully serve Tibetan diaspora communities and quickly spread the gospel. Through the ministry of the Tibetan church, raise up a new generation of believers who follow You and accomplish great and mighty works by faith.

May Tibet become a people who praise You. Multiply believers among them like the stars of heaven, and make them a nation that helps fill the Kingdom of God among all peoples. Amen.
