UNITED NATIONS, Feb. 6 — The United Nations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent launched on Wednesday a massive aid operation for the more than 40,000 displaced people in Rukban Camp on the border with Jordan, a UN spokesman said.
Stephen Dujarric, the spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said the operation, which is expected to last about a week, is “the largest ever convoy to provide humanitarian assistance” to the remote, makeshift settlement in southeastern Syria.
“The joint inter-agency convoy consists of 118 trucks… and will deliver food, health, nutritional supplies, core relief items, water sanitation and hygiene materials, education items and children’s recreational kits to people at the site, the vast majority of whom are vulnerable women and children,” he said.
“The UN continues to urge all parties to allow safe, sustained and unimpeded humanitarian access to all people in need in Syria, in line with their obligations under international humanitarian law,” he added.

To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. (Mark 12:33)
Lord, You are the father of all Syrian refugees. Lord, would You allow Your great mercy upon them.
Father, we thank You for Your protected hands over more than 40,000 Syrian refugees in Rukban camp. May all the aids and supplies be delivered well and become a pratical support for women and children.
Furthermore, may the door of the gospel open wide in the refugee camp so that more people can come before You in faith.
Also may the word of loving You with all our hearts, with all our understanding and with all our strength, and loving our neighbors as ourselves be fulfilled in the Syrian nation. May many Korean churches and global churches rise up to act upon the word of loving our neighbors.
May the Syrian refugees experience Your words being fulfilled and rise as Your faithful disciples to testify the gospel they have received to others!
